Over the last several years many improvements have been made to wide format ink jet printers, but almost all output still needs wide format digital imaging lamination film. The images created from the wide format ink jet printers almost always have very high ink coverage requiring special lamination film for good adhesion. Also, many of the substrates coming off of the printers are being displayed where UV protection is needed against the sun's ultraviolet rays. Most wide format digital imaging film is embedded with UV inhibitors to extend the life of the prints. Numerous thicknesses and finishes are available on the lamination film.
